| Frequently Asked Questions | ||||||||
| Are the training courses accredited? No. We did hold university accreditation within the Credit Accumulation and Transfer framework for six years for our Diploma in Stress Management Training. However, the costs associated with accreditation, which we had to pass on to our trainees, became prohibitive and we decided to let the accreditation go. This has not affected the number of applications for our training.. If I do the training will I be able to practise? Yes. Both our courses give you the stress management skills you will need in order to practise as a stress management trainer. We also include relaxation exercises and lectures on tape and a disk with all the forms, logs and questionnaires you will need for your stress management training or audit. You can edit these with your own logo if you wish. We also provide hard copies of these for photocopying. We don‘t, however, provide training in marketing.. What level are your courses set at? In academic terms the level is roughly equivalent to the final year of an honours degree. What kind of people do your courses? Nearly all are graduates and most have a professional qualification. They tend to have a background in the public sector, though we do get a smaller, but significant number of people from private sector management. Most of our trainees are aged between 35 and 55. Most are based in the United Kingdom, though we do train all over the world. Approximately a quarter of our trainees are employed in the caring and health professions and in the prison and probation services. Roughly a further quarter are in health and safety, personnel, human resources and training departments.. Both of these groups generally undertake our training to use in their current work. Roughly a further quarter of our trainees are people already in private practice as trainers, counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists, aromatherapists and many other disciplines who want to add stress management training to their skills. The final quarter of our trainees are people who want to earn their living as stress management trainers. If I do both courses together, how long do I get to complete them? We give you 18 months to complete the Diploma in Stress Management Training with a further 12 months after that to complete the Diploma in Organisational Stress Management. Is there a minimum time limit to complete the training.? There is no minimum time limit and some people do complete in two or three months. Is there help with the training if I need it? Yes. Our Director of Training, Maggie McCarthy, who developed the training courses, will gladly answer any questions you may have arising from the training. When does the training start? Anytime. We have an ongoing intake of trainees. How is the training delivered? Entirely by distance learning so it doesn‘t matter where you live. We post the entire course to you at the beginning and you work through at your own pace. Will I need to buy any books to back up the training. No. The training is complete in itself. With regard to essays, the short essays can be answered from the training material and the long essay is on a topic of your own choosing, related to stress management. Most trainees have an area of interest or specialism on which they already have plenty of books. |
